Sonnen will stay to fight Bisping & Co. after facing Silva
Sonnen heads into a rematch against Silva at UFC 148, aiming to become the first man in the UFC to defeat the Brazilian. He won four of five rounds against the champion in their first bout before succumbing to a late submission.
Such is the American's brash personality that it has been suggested that Sonnen might fancy a future in the pro-wrestling world of the WWE. He has also promised previously, although later retracted, to retire if beaten by Silva.
However, England's Michael Bisping recently revealed that a Sonnen victory could be crucial to securing him a future title shot. And Sonnen has confirmed he will be ready for challengers if he gets his hands on UFC gold.
"After I destroy Anderson Silva for the second time on July 7 at the MGM Grand, no, I'm not gonna retire," he told MMA Weekly.
"There's too many guys I need to beat up. I have a moral obligation to get rid of some of the trash in this business and specifically in the company the UFC. I'm gonna stick around until I fulfil my obligation to society."
