Stefan Struve has guaranteed that the UFC on Fuel 5 main event in Nottingham will "kick all sorts of ass" after ESPN revealed he is on course to headline against Stipe Miocic.

ESPN learned at the start of the week that Nottingham was set for a heavyweight main event between Struve and Miocic, and verbal agreements are now in for the bout.

Struve, a winner of his last three fights, defeated Lavar Johnson in his last outing for Submission of the Night honours. His opponent, Miocic, has never been beaten and is coming off a stoppage win over Shane Del Rosario.

The winner of the September 29 main event will propel himself towards a top contender bout in the heavyweight division, and Dutchman Struve clearly cannot wait to step into the Octagon.

"Fighting Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC Fuel 5! Happy to come back to fight in Europe, proud to be main event! It's gonna be great!!" Struve tweeted after ESPN had broken the news.

"Can't wait to be fighting in front of family, friends, fans and so on! Love fighting in the UK it feels like home and I'm super PUMPED!!!!!!

"I can guarantee you that this main event is gonna kick all sorts of ass!!"
