Rashad Evans calls on UFC to give him Anderson Silva

Rashad Evans has put himself forward as the next man to fight Anderson Silva, after watching the Brazilian beat Chael Sonnen at UFC 148.

Silva remained unbeaten in the UFC as he defended his middleweight title against Sonnen, stopping the American via TKO in the second round. Victory on Saturday, more than ever, proved Silva to be the greatest of all time.

The question will now become: who challenges the champion next? Mark Munoz, Michael Bisping and Vitor Belfort are all positioning themselves near the top of the 185lb queue, but none have really made an outstanding claim.

Evans himself is coming off a loss, but that came against light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones. It seems the former 205lb champ would be happy to drop a weight class in order to use his athleticism and wrestling to test Silva.

Evans tweeted: "@lorenzofertitta I want to pick a fight with the middleweight champion! Make it happen!! Please!"
