The first flyweight title fight in UFC history has been booked for September 22 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson will look to become the promotion's first 125-pound champion in the main event of UFC 152. UFC officials confirmed the news Friday in addition to a middleweight tilt between Michael Bisping and Brian Stann.

The UFC added the flyweight division in early 2012, kicking off a four-man mini tournament to determine the first title contenders.

Benavidez (16-2) earned his way to the title fight with a second-round TKO victory over Yasuhiro Urushitani in March. The former bantamweight has lost only two fights in his career; both to 135-pound champion Dominick Cruz.

Johnson (15-2) took a slightly longer route. He originally was awarded a decision over Ian McCall in March, but an error on the scorecards revealed the contest was actually scored a draw.

An immediate rematch was booked for June, when Johnson claimed a unanimous decision.
