Anderson Silva wants St-Pierre fight

Anderson Silva's camp has intimated that the UFC middleweight champion is not interested in fighting Chris Weidman, with Georges St-Pierre the Brazilian's preference.

Silva is without an equal in the UFC, never beaten during his time with the promotion and multiple record-holder when it comes to knockout victories and sequences of consecutive wins.

Having beaten Chael Sonnen, it seems the next man on Silva's radar is Weidman but, having become a superstar for the UFC, the champ is not keen on a fight with relatively unproven newcomer.

"Anderson has the biggest paycheck in the UFC, and you can't promote an event with these amateur kids that are coming up now," manager Jorge Guimaraes told Tatame.

Of much more interest to Silva are the blockbuster fights that can earn him big money as he nears the end of his career. St-Pierre v Silva undoubtedly would make the biggest Pay-Per-View in UFC history, but while Guimaraes says Silva wants the fight, he admits it has not been offered.

"No opponent makes sense for Anderson at this moment… unless we do a catchweight against Georges St-Pierre," Guimaraes said. "They didn't offer the fight, but he's the only one that could do a super fight."
