Frankie Edgar has offered to help Nate Diaz prepare for his UFC lightweight title clash against Ben Henderson at UFC on Fox 5.

Former champion Edgar has fought Henderson twice this year, most recently losing on a split decision at UFC 150 in Denver.

While Edgar is yet to decide on his next career move (with a drop to featherweight a possibility), he is willing to impart his knowledge and experience to Diaz, who will step into the Octagon with Henderson on December 8.

"If Nate would need my help or would ask for my help, I would love to help him out," Edgar told Sherdog Radio. "We got some work in last time that was really good. If I could help him out, of course I would."

Edgar believes Diaz's jiu-jitsu skills will prove a match for Henderson's wrestling ability.

"I just think that Nate comes forward so much, I don't know how Ben will deal with that... Nate's length. He's got great, great jiu-jitsu," he said.

"I feel the wrestling edge will probably go to Ben, but if you look at Nate's last performances, he's gotten so good everywhere. He fought Jim Miller, and Jim Miller couldn't take him down. Jim Miller's a pretty high-level wrestler too. I think Nate's definitely a great match-up for Ben."
