Bigfoot Silva plans early stoppage against Browne
Antonio Bigfoot Silva admits he is not even preparing to go five rounds this weekend, insisting he will stop Travis Browne inside two.
Silva is hoping to bounce back after he was given a beating by Cain Velasquez in his last outing. That loss saw Bigfoot bloodied early in the fight, after which he could not see as the ref eventually stepped in.
Now the giant heavyweight has the chance to re-establish his position inside the UFC's top 10 by beating Browne, although it is feared that Browne will be the fitter and more athletic if the fight goes the full 25 minutes.
That isn't a concern of Silva's though, who claims he will ground-and-pound his way to victory on Saturday. The fight is the headline event in Minnesota, and Silva is pumped.
"This is a very important fight for me, and I won't let it go past the second round," Browne said. "It is a five-round fight but, five rounds or three rounds, I don't like decisions on my record.
"I will do my best to finish Travis Browne inside two rounds. He's the second or third person I've fought who is bigger than me, but it does not matter, it is no problem.
"I know I can take him down to the ground and ground-and-pound him - for sure that is where I am very dangerous. But I have been training very, very hard on my standup. He is a very tough guy, undefeated, but I am so, so confident I will beat him inside two rounds."
