Dan Henderson has hit out at the UFC's decision to fasttrack Chael Sonnen to a title shot against Jon Jones.

Sonnen, who was comprehensively beaten by middleweight champion Anderson Silva on his last Octagon appearance, is now set for a shot at Jon Jones' light-heavyweight belt after the pair were announced as rival coaches for TUF 17.

Henderson was widely expected to be Jones' next opponent - the pair were initially slated to meet at UFC 151 before Henderson was forced to withdraw with a knee injury.

But Sonnen, whose reputation for trash talk precedes him, has been given the gig, which an indignant Henderson feels undermines fighters who should be ahead of Sonnen in the queue to fight Jones.

"I guess I should just quit training to win fights and to be exciting for the fans and just go to s*** talking school," Henderson wrote on his Twitter feed in a comment aimed at UFC president Dana White.
