Dos Santos not happy at Sonnen & Overeem title shots

Junior Dos Santos says Chael Sonnen and Alistair Overeem do not deserve to be handed the UFC title shots that are coming their way.

Sonnen will meet Jon Jones for the light-heavyweight crown in April, after the pair battle it out as coaches on TUF 17. The middleweight has been handed the opportunity despite a 6-5 UFC record, having lost his last bout to Anderson Silva.

Overeem awaits the winner of Dos Santos v Cain Velasquez for the heavyweight title, despite serving a suspension for failing a drug test. He too will challenge for UFC gold despite having not fought for over a year.

"It's kind of out of order," Dos Santos told Brazilian radio station Beat 98, as translated by Fighters Only. "Nowadays, the UFC is prioritising those fights which will sell well. A prime example of this was Chael Sonnen, who sold his fight very well. Overeem has followed the same path.

"But, for me, bring it on. I do not run from any challenge, I know I can beat anyone whatsoever. Whoever comes, I will do my best to go out with a win in the Octagon."

Dos Santos also shed light on the tactics he expects to encounter against Velasquez, who is bidding to improve on the outcome of their first fight, when JDS won in 64 seconds.

"This time, as Cain himself said he wants the fight to be longer. He is an excellent wrestler and I believe he will want to take it to the floor. He will try to do to me what he did with [Antonio] Silva," Dos Santos said.
