Paul Taylor withdrawal not down to weight cut - Etim

Paul Taylor is ready to resume his UFC career after a health scare forced him to pull out of UFC 112, according to Terry Etim.
Taylor had been scheduled to make his lightweight debut in Abu Dhabi against grappler Jon Gunderson. However, the Birmingham-based fighter had to withdraw 48 hours before the event after feeling unwell.
Early rumours suggested Taylor was suffering from the effects of cutting an extra 15lbs, while later reports claimed it was a migraine brought on by the weight cut. However, Etim trained and travelled with Taylor, and he said it had nothing to do with the more rigorous regime.
"Paul's alright now I think, but he was in a really bad way," Etim told ESPN.co.uk. "The weight cut wasn't a factor at all.
"Me, Paul Taylor and Paul Kelly all cut weight together, and he probably found it the easiest. I don't know what it was really, but he wasn't in a good way."
The timing of the withdrawal could barely have been worse for Taylor as he looked to correct a record of four defeats in his last six, but Etim is confident the UFC are not about to pull the plug on his team-mate's career.
"Everyone knows with Paul he's got a never-say-die attitude, he works at everything in the gym and he leaves everything in the Octagon. The UFC knows that as well as anyone, he'll be sound."
