Dan Henderson has revealed he expects to fight Lyoto Machida on Super Bowl weekend, making for a mega card at UFC 156.

Currently headlined by a featherweight title bout between Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar, UFC 156 is also expected to feature Rashad Evans against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

Now Henderson says his battle with Machida is scheduled for the February 2 card, making for a massive night particularly in the light-heavyweight division.

"I can tell you what I know," Henderson said on MMA Uncensored Live. "I was told that it should be Super Bowl weekend, February 2nd.

"But, who knows? Until it's a done deal - I've been told things before that didn't necessarily come true."

Henderson had been set to contest the light-heavyweight title with Jon Jones before a knee injury ruled him out of UFC 151. The American says he is now on the mend from that issue.

"The knee is getting better. It feels a lot tighter than it was. That was the biggest thing, the stability. But, I just started training last week, and it's feeling good."
