Condit out to destroy UFC's master plan

Carlos Condit has one aim on Saturday night at UFC 154: To mess up the UFC's master plan.

Condit fights Georges St-Pierre in the Canadian's back yard, knowing the UFC is planning to make the biggest superfight in the company's history if GSP emerges victorious this weekend.

A collision between St-Pierre and Anderson Silva would likely be staged in the 80,000-capacity Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, guaranteeing the UFC the biggest pay-per-view and gate numbers in the promotion's history.

Condit is not interested in any of that. He has ruined one superfight already, beating Nick Diaz to stop the Stockton fighter taking on GSP. Now he wants to beat the top man to prevent him facing Silva.

"I like playing this role, I like being the spoiler," Condit told MMA Fighting. "Ultimately I've got to beat Georges, and all the other stuff is just a side view.

"Anderson is going to watch me fight? That's awesome. But I am going to spoil their party. I am going to mess up their plans.

"If they want to make the superfight after I beat Georges, that's up to them."

If victory for GSP is enough to secure a superfight with Silva, then logic would suggest a win for Condit over St-Pierre should also book him a date with Silva. But Condit accepts that will not be the case if he is crowned undisputed welterweight champion.

"I would like to fight Anderson but there's going to be a long line of welterweight contenders that will be lined up to fight me," Condit acknowledged.
