Costa Philippou will not get to fight at UFC 154 on Saturday after Nick Ring was refused medical clearance by the pre-fight doctor.

Ring looked fine when he made weight on Friday, but he has been pulled from his encounter with Philippou just hours before the event begins.

"Bad news guys. My fight got cancelled... Nick got sick and he can't fight," Philippou tweeted.

As a result, the lightweight battle between Rafael dos Anjos and Mark Bocek has been promoted to the main card. The overall event will now feature 12 fights.
