Erick Silva to fight Jay Hieron at UFC 156

Erick Silva has been handed his next opponent according to the UFC Brazil Twitter account, with Jay Hieron to meet the welterweight at UFC 156.

Silva is coming off a loss to Jon Fitch, which saw him almost finish the American before gassing badly in the third.

Hieron is also responding to a loss, after he was beaten by Jake Ellenberger, and his experience will be a good test for Silva.

Hieron claims the fight will take place on the main card of UFC 156, which is headlined by Jose Aldo v Frankie Edgar. Silva will enter as favourite.

UFC 156 is scheduled for February 2 in Las Vegas.
