The mind games have started ahead of Nate Diaz's UFC lightweight title clash with Benson Henderson, after Diaz and his manager Cesar Gracie claimed the judges would be against him.

Diaz takes his first shot at UFC gold when he meets champion Henderson at UFC on Fox 5 on December 8. The Stockton fighter previously had a chance to win the WEC belt in 2006, losing to Hermes Franca.

Nate has already witnessed brother Nick lose a razor-thin decision to Carlos Condit this year, while Henderson has benefited from a close call against Frankie Edgar. In Diaz's eyes, the judges will be on the champion's side.

"I just don't think that I have any chance of winning any type of decision," Diaz said on The MMA Hour. "So, I've got to go out there and do what I've got to do to finish my opponent, be the better fighter and win the fight.

"Either way, if it goes to a decision, I'm going to try to be the one outscoring, outpointing and outdoing him."

If Diaz attempted to be considered in his opinion of the judges, Gracie most certainly did not as he suggested the Diaz brothers have to battle more than just their opponent inside the Octagon.

"It's almost like, in Nick's case, he figures he's fighting his opponent, and he's fighting the judges," Gracie said. "So, he's got to finish people.

"These guys fight like that anyways, and they're going to fight their hearts out for the team, for themselves, and for the fans. So, that's not going change, and at the end of the day, that's what we all respect so much about these guys.

"So, yeah, unfortunately, we've got to get those finishes or win something so lopsided that we get a decision. I've never seen a close decision where the nod was given to the Diazs.

"If it's close, they're going lose. I don't know why. I think, maybe, the judges don't care for them that much. But, for whatever it is, at the end of the day, the fans know who it is who wins the fights, and the fans are the ones who love to see these guys fight."
