The UFC confirmed on Wednesday that an event will be staged at London's Wembley Arena on February 16.

Following up on the September visit to Nottingham, the UFC will make a rapid return to England as it bids to fulfill its commitment to growing the sport in the UK.

No fights have yet been announced for the 2013 show, but bout announcements will follow in the very near future on ESPN.

UFC executive vice-president and managing director of EMEA, Garry Cook, revealed that the London show would be the first of three events to come to Europe in the calendar year.

"The UFC has seen significant international growth with nearly a third of all the live events now held outside the USA. London is one of the world's major capital cities and is a fitting host to kick off 2013 for the first of three European events taking place this year," Cook said.

"We work hard in Europe to keep UFC at the leading edge of MMA and as always our show will not disappoint our loyal followers."

One man who may twist Dana White's arm for a slot on the card is light-heavyweight Jimi Manuwa, who was explosive on UFC debut against Kyle Kingsbury in Nottingham.

Manuwa fights out of London and is a crowd-pleaser in the 205-pound division, and while his presence on the card is yet to be confirmed it would be a shock if he does not feature.

Fans may not see Dan Hardy, however, after he recently told ESPN that he does not expect to fight until March or April.
