Mark Hunt and Stefan Struve are heading for a heavyweight showdown at UFC on Fuel 8, according to widespread reports on Tuesday.

Hunt and Struve are set to trade leather on March 2 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. No official confirmation has been made by the UFC, but the bout is understood to be agreed by both parties.

The pair had been scheduled to fight at UFC 146, but a knee injury prevented Hunt from fulfilling his obligations. He has not fought since UFC 144, when he knocked out Cheick Kongo.

Struve is the man with momentum, having submitted Lavar Johnson and stopped Stipe Miocic, taking him close to title contention. He will have over a one-foot height advantage against Hunt come March 2.
