Josh Koscheck has offered himself as Rory MacDonald's next rival, but questioned whether the UFC would risk its new star in such a fight.

MacDonald was magnificent in victory over BJ Penn on Saturday, outstriking the former champ for a one-sided decision victory.

However, the 23-year-old is yet to beat top quality, in-form welterweight competition in the class of Koscheck. Victory over Penn represents a win over a faded legend, while his previous win was against England's Che Mills.

The only man of Koscheck's level to have faced MacDonald was Carlos Condit, who inflicted the Canadian's only defeat. It is a loss MacDonald desperately wants to avenge.

Koscheck wants to show up the holes in the youngster's game, offering himself as the next opponent, but does not believe the UFC will give MacDonald such a tough challenge.

"Maybe Rory should fight me???" Koscheck tweeted. "I doubt the UFC would want to see him get his ass kicked."
