Light-heavyweight Dan Henderson has dismissed speculation that injury could prevent him from facing Lyoto Machida at UFC 157 in February.

Henderson is expected to meet the Brazilian at the event in 2013, although no formal announcement has been made. But UFC president Dana White suggested over the weekend that the 42-year-old's slow recovery from injury could see rival Alexander Gustafsson step in and take the fight instead.

Henderson suffered cruciate ligament damage that forced him out of a scheduled UFC 151 meeting with divisional champion Jon Jones earlier in the year, but insists he is well on course to fight Machida as his training camp continues.

"Not sure where Dana White thinks he's hearing that my knee isn't doing ok," Henderson said on Twitter. "It's doing great. Slowly picking training up just like I do for every training camp.

"I guess I'll have to show Dana personally how my knee feels."
