Vitor Belfort has offered his view on a potential superfight between Anderson Silva and Jon Jones, predicting the Brazilian would emerge victorious.

Belfort knows both men having been knocked out by Silva and submitted by Jones, the latter of whom he almost beat when snapping on an early armbar.

Silva and Jones are widely understood to be the top two fighters on the planet, and only 20lbs in weight separates them. Natural middleweight Silva has fought at Jones' weight class on several occasions, so a superfight is strong possibility.

Should it occur in the future, Belfort expects Silva to come out on top due to the imagination he brings when striking. The Brazilian, in Belfort's eyes, is untouchable.

"It would make sense if Anderson fought Jon Jones," Belfort told Por Dentro da Arena in quotes translated by Fighters Only.

"Anderson is a fighter at another level. I'm not underestimating Jones but appraising Anderson. He's one of the best that has existed, I always thought it.

"It is very nice to see his success. I know what he has gone through. Anderson is in a very high level and should defend his belt or fight for the light-heavyweight title. I think he has a greater possibility to beat Jones. He would win on the feet."
