White: Silva won't even be after Diaz for GSP

UFC president Dana White continues to bang the drum for future superfights involving Anderson Silva, although it now appears that the Brazilian will not be the opponent in any of Georges St-Pierre's next two fights.

White previously promised the MMA public a meeting between the welterweight champion St-Pierre and middleweight king Silva, if GSP beat Carlos Condit at UFC 154 in November. The Canadian duly delivered that win.

"If Georges St-Pierre wins, those two will fight and it'll probably be in May," White said on November 15. "Anderson Silva will be there this Saturday watching, and if [St-Pierre] wins, it'll be a huge fight for us."

However, St-Pierre is clearly resistant to the fight, understandably so given Silva's enormous size advantage. The Canadian claims he would have to put on a severe amount of muscle bulk, meaning he could never drop back down to the welterweight ocean.

As a result, the UFC has confirmed Nick Diaz as St-Pierre's next opponent, on a stacked UFC 158 card in March. And even if GSP wins that fight, White hinted that Johny Hendricks will be next if he beats Jake Ellenberger.

The president does, however, retain a firm belief that Silva will fight not only St-Pierre but also Jon Jones before he ends his glittering career.

"I truly believe - and [St-Pierre's] got to get through Diaz and then possibly Hendricks - but I honestly believe that before Anderson Silva retires, he will fight Georges St-Pierre and Jon Jones," White said.

UFC 158 will take place in Montreal, and will be full of welterweights including a rematch between Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit.
