Roy Nelson has revealed he would be open to fighting Pat Barry in his next bout, but does not think his fellow heavyweight is walking the same path.

Nelson floored Matt Mitrione at the TUF 16 Finale on Saturday, delivering a trademark knockout to put himself on a two-fight win streak.

Barry also delivered a noteworthy display, clubbing Shane Del Rosario to the ground for a second-round stoppage. With both results coming on the same night, the obvious theoretical matchmaking has since taken place.

Nelson was asked about the potential for a fight with Barry on The MMA Hour, but appeared to reveal a desire from Barry to take some time away from the Octagon.

"If Pat wants to, I'll fight Pat," Nelson said. "But, I talked to Pat, and he said he doesn't want to fight for a while.

"He wants a vacation. I'm the kind of guy who likes to work."
