Josh Koscheck's first fight of 2013 has been announced, with the welterweight set to meet returning star Robbie Lawler.

Koscheck had been linked to the Wembley Arena event in London, but will instead fight at UFC 157 on February 23. The bout was confirmed by the UFC on Wednesday.

Opponent Lawler has already had one stint in the UFC, going 4-3 between 2002-04 including a victory over Chris Lytle. His spell ended on a two-fight losing streak, after defeats to Nick Diaz and Evan Tanner.

Koscheck has his own reputation to restore following defeat to Johny Hendricks, and is determined to shoot himself towards high-profile bouts at the top of the 170lb division.

Also added to the card, heavyweights Lavar Johnson and Brendan Schaub will try again after injury forced their initial bout to be cancelled. TUF 15 winner Michael Chiesa, meanwhile, will meet Finnish lightweight Anton Kuivanen.

UFC 157 is headlined by Ronda Rousey's title defence against Liz Carmouche. The Honda Center will also witness Lyoto Machida v Dan Henderson, as well as Urijah Faber v Ivan Menjivar.
