Britain's number one heavyweight signs with the UFC

The UFC has signed up three new British fighters from the Wolfslair, including the country's top heavyweight Rob Broughton.

Broughton has been joined in signing a four-fight deal by light-heavyweight Tom Blackledge and welterweight Kurt Warburton, according to Fighters Only Magazine, who hold strong links with the Wolfslair gym.

Broughton has spent the past six months at the Wolfslair, which is home to Michael Bisping, Rampage Jackson and Cheick Kongo, and he confirmed himself as the No. 1 heavyweight in England by winning the ZT Fight Night - "Heavyweights Collide" back in January.

A catch wrestler by trade, Broughton stopped former UFC man Neil Wain via guillotine and then knocked out James Thompson on his way to the Fight Night final, where he decisioned Oli Thompson in his third fight of the night. He has since declared that he would love to take out Kimbo Slice.

Blackledge will already be known to certain UFC fans after featuring as one of Rampage's coaches on series 10 of The Ultimate Fighter, and he arrives with a black belt Jiu-Jitsu game that is supported by dangerous striking. His last fight produced a nine-second knock-out of Enoc Solves Torres, and Blackledge is largely happy to take the fight anywhere.

Meanwhile, Warburton lands in the welterweight division having beaten Ultimate Fighter 9 winner Ross Pearson in the most recent of their three contests.
