Daley not interested in rematching 'boring' Shields

Paul Daley has no interest in a rematch with the incoming Jake Shields, unless the pair one day meet for the UFC welterweight title.
UFC president Dana White confirmed on Thursday that reigning Strikeforce middleweight champion Shields will be coming to MMA's top organisation. Shields has won his last 14 fights and is being touted as a serious rival for Georges St-Pierre's welterweight crown after he beat Dan Henderson at middleweight.
Daley has his own designs on St-Pierre's belt as he prepares to take on Josh Koscheck at UFC 113, in a fight that could determine the new No. 1 contender at 170lbs. However, Shields' arrival might blur those plans.
Shields beat Daley via armbar two years ago, in a defeat that Daley still beats himself up about. However, the Team Rough House fighter is not going to leap at the chance of revenge, insisting he does not want to be involved in boring fights.
"Jake Shields is obviously the current Strikeforce champion and he's doing pretty well. But I still believe I let myself down when I fought him. There was a lot of quit in me," Daley told ESPN.co.uk.
"I wouldn't really be interested in a rematch with Jake unless it was for a title.
"Jake's good at what he does but he's not exciting. I don't know many Jake Shields fans who don't train with him, but he's one of those guys who are very good at fighting in a very boring manner and getting the victory.
"He'll never be a Tito Ortiz who excites the crowd, he's a boring wrestler, that's what he is."
