Rampage: No middleweight can beat Anderson Silva
Silva has been left without an obvious next opponent following Saturday's UFC on FX 7 main event, which saw Michael Bisping wiped out by Vitor Belfort.
Victory for Bisping would have booked a title date with the champion, but the same scenario will not develop for Belfort, who has already suffered a memorable knockout loss to Silva.
With Chris Weidman injured, and fellow contenders Tim Boetsch and Alan Belcher recently defeated, few possibilities exist for the world's best fighter. And Rampage insists the Spider is just too good.
"Anderson Silva is one of the best fighters on the planet, I haven't seen anyone in that weight class who could give him a run for his money," Rampage told ESPN in an exclusive interview.
"Anderson's a tough fight for anyone."
Future options for Silva include a meeting with Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold, although he has been suffering from a shoulder injury. A bout against a light-heavyweight, such as Rashad Evans, would also hold appeal, although Evans may not wish to drop to 185lbs.
