Glover Teixeira insists he is not ready for a shot at the UFC light-heavyweight title despite a unanimous decision victory over Rampage Jackson at UFC on Fox 6.

Teixera, who is now 3-0 in the UFC and 20-2 in MMA, put in an impressive performance to end Jackson's UFC career with a 30-27 30-27 29-28 victory in Chicago.

However, he does not want to sit on the sidelines waiting for a title shot and would rather return to the Octagon as soon as possible.

"That's not my job. The No. 1 contender right now is Chael Sonnen. You have to respect that," Teixeira told Fox Sports. "I think Chael is a good fighter, but I believe Jones is going to keep the title."

When asked if he wanted to fight the winner of Jones and Chael Sonnen, who fight at UFC 159 in April, Teixeira replied: "No, because it's is going to take too long. I want to fight before that."

Teixeira believes he did enough to end the fight earlier, but said he fought maturely and was happy to take his time to see out victory.

He said: "He's tough, man. I knew he was tough. This is a guy who has pride. I hit him with good shots, but he hits hard, too. I couldn't become cocky in that situation and get caught with a punch, so I took my time. I swear, I hit him hard. I hurt him, and I thought it was going to be a knockout."
