Jose Aldo has promised to send Frankie Edgar back to his weight class, after both fighters weighed in ahead of their meeting at UFC 156.

Featherweight champion Aldo will take a one-pound advantage into the Octagon with him against Edgar, who is bidding to become a two-weight UFC world champion after previously holding the lightweight crown.

Aldo, however, is confident of his defence.

"He's a great fighter, but I'm going to send him back to his weight class," Aldo said.

Elsewhere, heavyweight Alistair Overeem will take a slight advantage with him into his bout with Antonio Silva, as the Dutchman returns to competition following a ban.

Rashad Evans and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira both tipped the scales at 206 pounds prior to their meeting, while there were no problems making weight with any of the other fighters on the main card.
