Tate would 'rip Rousey's face off'

Miesha Tate insists that if she gets a second chance at fighting Ronda Rousey she will "rip her face off".

Rousey is fresh from defending her UFC women's bantamweight championship title against Liz Carmouche at UFC 157 but Tate says she saw several chinks in the former Olympic judo bronze medallist's technique.

Rousey was caught in an early submission attempt from Carmouche but stayed calm and escaped to win the fight at 4.49 in the first round after Carmouche tapped out under her opponent's infamous armbar.

Tate lost to Rousey in March last year, also due to an armbar, and she is desperate to have another crack at the first female fighter to sign with the UFC, believing she has got a much better chance of victory now.

"It [Rousey v Carmouche] was pretty much what I expected, but she did get a little sloppy there, giving her back up, which is a habit I have picked up on a little bit," Tate is quoted as saying by prommanow.com.

"I got her back in the first fight and I guarantee you if I get it in the second one, I'm going to rip her face off."

Tate's next fight is against Cat Zingano in the TUF 17 Finale in April, with the winner widely tipped, but not confirmed, to fight Rousey in their next bout. And Zingano was not overly impressed with Rousey's performance either.

"It was exactly what I expected," Zingano said. "It's impressive because it's the first female fight in the UFC and I'm very proud that we're all part of it, but I think there's a lot of holes in [Rousey's] game. Time will tell."
