The UFC has released welterweight Matt Riddle after he failed his second post-fight drugs test for marijuana.

Riddle is a medical marijuana user but under advice from the UFC, he agreed to stop taking the drug three weeks prior to fighting.

But he got his timetable wrong ahead of his bout with Che Mills at UFC London and tested positive after the fight.

The 27-year-old overcame Mills in the octagon via a split decision leading to the Brit being axed from the UFC.

But Riddle has had to follow him and leaves the UFC with a recent record of four straight wins although his defeat of Chris Clements was called a No Contest after a first positive test for marijuana.

Riddle has spent his entire professional career in the UFC and is a former competitor on TUF 7. He has also notched victories against the likes of DaMarques Johnson and John Maguire.
