Michael Bisping insists it is time to "quit being a pussy" in his pursuit of a UFC middleweight title, insisting he will fight with no game plan against Alan Belcher at UFC 159.

Bisping is fed up with falling at the final hurdle when it comes to booking a title shot, having lost No. 1 contender bouts to Dan Henderson, Chael Sonnen and Vitor Belfort.

The Brit has spent years honing his boxing skills and adding variation through improved takedown offence, but defeat to Belfort has prompted Bisping to shake up his entire setup.

As his own worst critic, Bisping says he has to become more professional in the way he trains and treats his body, but crucially he insists he has lost his killer edge.

That will change against Belcher.

"I need to get my animal back. I need to go back to being a hard ass rather than a technician," he told ESPN during a recent interview. "I'm going to do that with Alan Belcher. Make no mistake, round one there will be no gameplan, I'm going in there to destroy him - simple as that.

"People say I have no knockout power. Believe me, I have. All my first ten fights were knockouts in the first round.

"But I was on pure adrenaline and aggression back then, and in some ways I've lost that. I need to get that back. I'll train obviously, work on my boxing and all the rest of it, but mainly, I just want to be an animal and destroy this guy."

Bisping's self-critiquing attitude was impressive, displaying clearly that the hunger still burns incredibly strong for a world title. He recently stated he will fight for another eight years, but changes to his preparation will begin now.

"A lot of stuff has to change. I want to be world champion and it's not happening right now. So I'm willing to admit mistakes, I'm willing to admit I've allowed people around me to make mistakes, and I need to quit being a pussy and be a man. I need to change."
