The loser of UFC 158's main event between Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz will be able to console himself with the prospect of a future fight with Martin Kampmann.

St-Pierre defends his welterweight belt against Diaz in Montreal on Saturday, at the peak of a significant card for the 170lb division, which also sees Carlos Condit meet John Hendricks and Jake Ellenberger take on Nate Marquardt.

Champion St-Pierre is a heavy favourite to maintain his dominance of the division, while defeat for Diaz would leave many to wonder what the future holds for the former Strikeforce man.

Diaz is coming off a loss to Condit so defeat to St-Pierre would mean he has lost his last two. Saturday is also his first fight after a suspension, but Kampmann insists he would love to fight him.

"No fights lined up yet, but I would like to get one this summer against Strikeforce champ Saffiedine or Diaz after GSP beats him up," Kampmann tweeted.

"[But] If Diaz pulls it off I will be happy to fight GSP as well. I would actually prefer that."

Kampmann has not fought since a crippling knockout loss to Hendricks ended his own charge at the title. Prior to that he had won three on the spin.
