Chris Weidman is vowing to upset the UFC super-fight plans by toppling Anderson Silva when they meet at UFC 162 on July 6.

Silva is widely regarded as the biggest draw in UFC and there is talk the middleweight will step down to face welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre or up to meet light-heavyweight king Jon Jones.

But first he must get past Weidman in Las Vegas. And the unbeaten Weidman has told UFC president Dana White that that is not going to happen.

"I talked to Chris Weidman myself," White said following UFC 158 in Montreal. "Guy looks me right in the eye and says, 'I'm telling you, I apologise that I'm going to f**k up all your super-fights and I'm gonna be your next champion.'"

White has admitted such a scenario would derail plans for a mega-fight, but Weidman is prepared to dangle a carrot.

White, passing on what Weidman told him, said: "What I will do for you is I'll give him (Silva) an immediate rematch in Madison Square Garden as soon as he loses.'

"It's verbatim what the guy said to me."
