Gustafsson bout with Mousasi in doubt

Alexander Gustafsson's UFC Sweden headlining bout with Gegard Mousasi has been put in serious doubt after 'The Mauler' reportedly suffered a major cut over his eye in training.

Less than a week before the UFC-ranked No. 2 light-heavyweight was set to star in his hometown of Stockholm, Swedish MMA Federation president Gorge Sallfeldt admitted that there was uncertainty over whether the fight would now go ahead.

"It is very difficult to see that this will be medically approved on Friday," Sallfeldt told MMA news site MMANYTT.se. "This is a medical decision and not up to Alexander [Gustafsson] himself."

Sallfeldt added: "[letting someone go into a fight] with heavy scar tissue would not be an option."
