Struve back in training following broken jaw

Stefan Struve is targeting a swift return to the Octagon, just six weeks after suffering a broken jaw at the hands of Mark Hunt.

Heavyweight Struve suffered the injury when Hunt caught him with a huge left-hook during the third round of their UFC on Fuel TV 8 bout in Japan in March, but the Dutchman has confirmed his return to training and could be back in action in the next few months.

"Six weeks after having surgery on my jaw I had my first full contact MMA training tonight, it went great," Struve said on his Twitter account. "Aiming to be back in a couple months."

The 25-year-old's loss to Hunt ended a four-fight winning streak and has disrupted his rise into contention for a title bout with heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez.

The mixed-martial artist has been fully committed as he aims for a quick return to action, and also indicated that he could start sparring again in the next few weeks.

"Feels so great to be training again," Struve said. "Back on track, getting in shape again and then sparring in a few weeks. On to the next one."
