No break has Jones eyeing swift return

Jon Jones has been handed a huge boost with the news he did not break his toe against Chael Sonnen and should be back in action in two months.

Jones defended his light-heavyweight title against Sonnen at UFC 159, but the win came at a cost as he damaged a toe in the final stages of his victory.

The injury looked a bad one and there were fears that a serious break could sideline him for a considerable period of time.

However, it has been confirmed that Jones suffered a dislocation and not a break which will cut down the rehabilitation period.

"The rehabilitation involves putting the toe back into place; line it up again," Dr Robert Klapper, chief orthopedic surgeon at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, told UFC Tonight. "Because there's no fracture of the bone - it's just a dislocation - in six weeks it's healed, then you start range of motion and strengthening rehab.

"He'll be back to fighting in six to eight weeks."
