UFC confident over Mark Hunt visa issue
The UFC expects Mark Hunt to be cleared for travel ahead of UFC 160, despite his recent visa issues threatening the co-main event with Junior Dos Santos.
Hunt and Dos Santos are set to form the enticing appetiser to the May 25 main event, which sees heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez defend his belt against Antonio Bigfoot Silva.
However, Hunt's participation in Las Vegas has been thrown into doubt by visa issues. He announced via Twitter that he was twice denied departure from an airport in New Zealand due to visa problems.
The UFC is convinced the situation will be sorted though, with director of communications Dave Sholler saying: "Right now, our team is working on this issue.
"This isn't the first time we've had a travel or visa issue, so we have some of the best people equipped to take care of these issues. We're pretty confident that Mark is going to get out [of New Zealand] by the weekend."
Hunt is in form, winning his last four fights, but meets a former champion in Dos Santos, who can potentially book a title rematch with Velasquez if both men win at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
