Roy Nelson gets Stipe Miocic at UFC 161

Roy Nelson's reward for beating Cheick Kongo will be a heavyweight showdown with Stipe Miocic, the UFC announced on Tuesday.

Nelson is aiming for a title shot following a run of three victories, and his name had been linked either to Daniel Cormier or Mark Hunt by president Dana White.

However, instead he will meet Miocic, who is looking to bounce back from defeat to Stefan Struve. The bout will take place at UFC 161.

The June 15 event is now headlined by the light-heavyweight bout between Dan Henderson and Rashad Evans, after Renan Barao was forced to withdraw from his interim bantamweight title defence against Eddie Wineland.
