Welterweight contenders Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann will headline a UFC event at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on August 28, the promotion confirmed on Friday.

It will be the second meeting between the two. Kampmann defeated Condit by split decision in April 2009. It was the UFC debut for Condit, who entered as the final WEC welterweight champion.

Condit, the former UFC interim 170-pound titleholder, seeks to snap a two-fight losing skid. He came up short in a title unification bout in November - dropping a unanimous decision to lineal champion Georges St-Pierre at UFC 154 in Montreal.

In his first appearance inside the cage after that loss, Condit suffered a unanimous decision setback on March 16 to hard-hitting Johny Hendricks at UFC 158. That event also was held in Montreal.

Condit (28-7) is ranked No. 3 among welterweights by ESPN.com.

Kampmann (20-6) had a three-fight win streak snapped during his most recent outing. He was knocked out in 46 seconds by Hendricks at UFC 154.

ESPN.com ranks Kampmann the No. 8 welterweight.
