Anderson Silva has once again stoked the fire by admitting that he would like to take on boxer Roy Jones Jr.

UFC legend Silva was previously lined up to fight Floridian Jones in 2009, but the contest never materialised and appeared to be put to rest when Silva signed to commit his future with the UFC.

But now the Brazilian has put the offer back on the table, saying he'd like to take on Jones twice - once in the boxing ring and once under MMA rules.

Talking about his desire to fight Jones, 38-year-old Silva said: "I think everyone's got something they're focused on and that's my own desire, something I'd like to do.

"Maybe one day when I'm done with my UFC career I will box Roy Jones."

UFC fans will be comforted by the fact Silva said he wouldn't fight Jones until his UFC career is finished - but with the boxer now aged 44 and having lost three of his last five fights, time is against Silva to get his showdown.
