Thiago: I'll fight Antonio at light-heavy
Thiago Silva has told former team-mate Antonio Silva he is ready for a showdown - but only at light-heavyweight.
Thiago knocked out Rafael Cavalcante at UFC on FUEL 10, prompting recent heavyweight contender Antonio to call him out on Twitter.
Brazilian Antonio tweeted in Portuguese that Thiago "had a debt to settle," and a heavyweight fight would be a suitable catch weight as Thiago had trimmed 25lb to fight in the 205lb division.
But speaking to MMA Fighting through a translator, Thiago insisted he was prepared to face Antonio, but only if he sheds 60lb to fight at light-heavyweight.
Thiago's demands appear to all but rule out a showdown, with Antonio Silva having needed to shed weight to fight in the 265lb heavyweight division.
"He must be sad because I left American Top Team," Thiago Silva said, offering some explanation for the apparent bad blood between the duo.
"If he wants to fight me he has to come down to 205. That's it."
