A UFC featherweight matchup between Hatsu Hioki and Darren Elkins has been added to a UFC on Fox Sports 1 event on August 28 in Indianapolis, sources close to the event confirmed to ESPN.com on Monday.

The UFC card will take place at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Hioki (26-6-2) was considered a potential threat to defending champion Jose Aldo when he signed with the UFC in 2011. The Japanese veteran posted wins in his first two Octagon appearances, outpointing George Roop and Bart Palaszewski.

The 29-year-old Hioki has scuffled in two fights since, however, dropping back-to-back decisions to Ricardo Lamas and Clay Guida.

Elkins (16-3) looks to rebound from a first-round knockout loss to Chad Mendes at a UFC event in April. Prior to the loss, Elkins had earned five consecutive wins at 145 pounds.

A welterweight rematch between Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann is set to headline the UFC on Fox Sports 1 card.
