Shane Del Rosario - an apology

On Thursday evening we mistakenly reported on ESPN.co.uk that Shane Del Rosario had died, based on information from sources close to the situation and to the UFC.

That erroneous news was incorrectly added as an update to an earlier story by Josh Gross about Shane's health condition. We take this matter very seriously, and offer a full apology for the mistakes in our reporting and editorial process.

We will be conducting a review of the process in order to avoid this mistake in the future.
