White quashes super heavyweight talk

UFC president Dana White has reiterated that he is not considering introducing a super heavyweight division.
The division has never been stronger with the likes of Brock Lesnar, Shane Carwin, Frank Mir, Junior Dos Santos, Cain Velasquez, Minotauro Nogueira and Roy Nelson, with Lesnar and Carwin contesting the belt at UFC 116.
Speaking at the UFC Fan Expo in Las Vegas, White insisted there would not be enough quality fighters over 265 pounds to justify the creation of a super heavyweight division.
"We're just getting to the point now where the heavyweight division is probably the best it's ever been in UFC history and more and more guys keep popping up," he said. "As the sport continues to grow and getting bigger, you're going to see bigger guys that would have played other sports get involved in mixed martial arts.
"Everybody was complaining in the beginning, 'Brock Lesnar is too big for everybody,' but the reality is Brock Lesnar is a real heavyweight. You're not going to go out and find too many super heavyweights out there. There just aren't enough big guys like that."
