Randy Couture has outlined the gameplan with which he plans to show James Toney, and every other boxer in the world, that they cannot cut it in the UFC.

Couture has told Toney, the former three-time IBF boxing champion, that he is 'sorely mistaken' if he thinks he can punch his way out of trouble at UFC 118. Toney is believed to have received a crash course in takedown defence in the past few months in order to deal with his opponent's Greco-Roman wrestling background, but Couture predicts the 41-year-old will be too cocky to truly embrace the multi-faceted world of MMA.

"I can't decide if James really is that cocky and arrogant that he thinks he can walk in there purely as a boxer and get the job done," said the Hall of Famer. "I sincerely hope he's doing some other things. I hear he's got some wrestlers in his camp who will give him a perspective of where I'm coming from, but I think he honestly believes his boxing will be enough.

"James or any other boxer who thinks he can walk in there just with his boxing tools and be effective are sorely mistaken."

Outlining the problems that Toney will face, Couture put together a catalogue of options that he will move between in order to get the job done.

"There are some serious holes in his game and it's my job to point those out," said Couture. "If James comes with that traditional boxing posture, he can expect to get the hell kicked out of his lead leg. He can expect a right to come at his head followed by a swift double-leg, a swift clinch, then we'll tie him up, dirty box, punch, elbow, knee, shoulder, anything I need to do to put him on the floor.

"There's a whole load of other things that go on inside the cage. He better hope he can catch me."
