Frank Mir will be the larger man in the UFC 119 main event after he weighed in heavier than Mirko Cro Cop on Friday.

Mir has gone on record about his interest in potentially dropping to the light-heavyweight division in recent weeks, an ambition UFC president Dana White does not believe the former champion can achieve. White claims Mir's thighs are far too big to fight at 205lbs, and he made reference to a failed practice cut undertaken by Mir in the past.

At the official weigh-in for UFC 119 in Indianapolis, Mir tipped the scales at a healthy 252lbs, some 13lbs lighter than his last fight against Shane Carwin. By contrast, lethal striker Cro Cop came in at 227lbs.

In a meeting of two MMA veterans, Cro Cop will attempt to use his speed and striking accuracy to defeat Mir on Saturday, having finished 21 opponents by knockout in his MMA career.

The Croatian has not been to a decision since 2007, and he will have to negate Mir's exceptional jiu-jitsu skills if he is to triumph this weekend.
