Couture set for Machida showdown

Randy Couture has put talk of retirement on the backburner and could return to action against Lyoto Machida at UFC 129, ESPN understands.

The 47-year-old had hinted at calling it a day after his victory over James Toney at UFC 118 in August, and later claimed he was only interested in a fight with Machida or Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua.

"If the right fight came along and again, by the right fight, I mean, one of the two guys I've been interested in fighting for quite a while now are either Shogun or Machida," Couture said last month. "If they offered me either one of those fights tomorrow, I'd take either one of them."

According to MMAfighting.com, Couture will fight Machida on April 30 in Toronto after Couture claimed the pair had verbally agreed to a fight.
