Tensions rose during the weigh-in for UFC 126, as Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort threatened to come to blows before the main event at the Mandalay Bay on Saturday evening.
A simmering feud has developed between middleweight champion Silva and Belfort and the hype would appear to have been true as they squared up - with Silva donning a mask after weighing-in. Silva ambled across the stage, slid on a mask and moved into the face of Belfort - seemingly in response to Belfort's claim that Silva puts on an image inside and outside the Octagon.
"You guys came here to watch a show," Silva said. "Vitor talks a lot and that's what you're going to see, is a show."
It threatened to boil over at one stage, but calm was restored - allowing the anticipation to grow in the final hours before the fight.
Forrest Griffin takes on Rich Franklin on the undercard and he came in at a trim 205lbs - which observers were impressed with given his 14-month absence.
A fight that is arguably as anticipated as the headline bout is the clash between Jon Jones and Ryan Bader and the pair had an intense stare down.
