Paul Daley has vowed never to be silenced, regardless of whether he makes a return to the UFC in the near future.

Daley can become one of the hottest properties outside of the UFC if he beats Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz on April 9. Victory would undoubtedly increase the pressure on president Dana White to re-sign the Briton, regardless of their history.

White cut Daley and promised never to allow him back into the UFC after his post-fight sucker punch on Josh Koscheck at UFC 113, but Daley has stated in recent weeks that he believes the decision to cut him was based on the fact White dislikes him.

Unlike the likes of Josh Barnett and Dan Henderson, Daley has made little effort to smooth the road to a potential UFC return, threatening to pull out of the Diaz fight, and he insists that lone-ranger streak will never change in him.

"I'm not a kiss-ass, I'm not really a company guy, I like to do my own thing and do things when I want to do them. Some people like that, some people don't," he told the ESPN UFC Podcast.

"My management tell me to do something but I'll just do what I want to do.

"I'm not stubborn, it's not that I've got no discipline, I just want to be me. I've only ever been me, I just say it how it is and deal with the consequences afterwards."
