Jake Shields has put the boot in to Paul Daley ahead of Saturday's Strikeforce welterweight title fight, labelling the Brit a "dirty fighter".

Shields fought Daley in 2008, winning via submission in the second round. However, the current UFC No. 1 welterweight contender encountered some problems in taking "Semtex" to the mat prior to his victory.

Daley is preparing to fight Nick Diaz for the Strikeforce belt this weekend, and Shields warned the American not to expect an easy ride.

"He's a dirty fighter," Shields told MMA Fighting. "That's already kind of known but when I was shooting on him, he tried to put his fingers in my eyes and mouth and stuff.

"Other than that, he's a great striker without really good jiu-jitsu and I don't think he's really changed too much since I fought him, I think he's pretty much stayed the same."
